The Manufacturing Institute Award for Most Innovative Company
The winner was;
Delamere Dairy Ltd- Knutsford, Cheshire
When Roger and Liz Sutton began Delamere Dairy in 1985 it was not without ridicule from fellow farmers and friends. Goat farming was then, virtually unheard of in the UK, but undeterred by cynicism they took a risk, and their initiative and determination is reflected in the success that Delamere Dairy has become.
Innovation has played a key role in their success and is the driving factor behind the company's growth. As the goats milk market has expanded, largely due to its appeal to people with allergies and intolerances, the product range has grown and includes goats milk, cheese, butter and yoghurt, through to Top Life Formula, a goats milk range for puppies and kittens with added ingredients for health and well-being. Today, Delamere Dairy is a multi-million pound business with products stocked in all major supermarkets.
